STIHL Genuine M6 Squash Nuts x 2 fits 070 090 084 088 880 881 etc #9214 320 0900

Here we have two (2) STIHL M6 x 1.0mm Squash Nuts or Stover Nuts.
These are to the best of my knowledge a German Invention and a superb one at that. The spanner size you need with these nuts is 10mm, a ring spanner or socket if of course best.
These are used on the dog spikes on the 070, 090, CONTRA/LIGHTNING saws as well as the 084, 088, MS880 and MS881 too and no doubt many other old girls that i have missed. 
The Squash Nut / Stover Nut is a hex all-metal prevailing torque self-locking nut, made to DIN980V standard. (DIN means German Institute for Standards or... Deutsches Institut für Normung.
This is not the sort of thing you buy from Australian Fastener Suppliers.
If keeping your saw all original is important to you then you may need these squash nuts.
These lock nuts are vibration resistant self-locking nuts, which are resistant to shocks, vibration and dynamic loads – and they can be reused a number of times.
The locking function is achieved by the deformation of part of the nut. The nut will run smoothly until it reaches the deformed part, after which the clamping force will increase.
