Japanese Manufacture by the Nippon Piston Ring (NPR) Company to the highest of standards. These rings are friction proofed... something rare to see in chainsaws. They are "PVD Coated" which is a new technique of coating metals by a process called Physical Vapor Deposition, which translated to Australian means "stuff in the air which end up stuck on the metal"!
So these rings have a ceramic coating that will outlast normal rings, a little more expensive, but worth it if you want the best. In addition the edge surfaces are exceptionally smooth with no sharp edges
so your ring lands will not get chopped out over time.
