NEW WEST / STIHL 090 Nikasil (Ceramic) Cylinder Assembly (66mm) # 1106 020 1201

Here we have a very High Quality Product.
The New West Tiawanese manufactured 66mm 090, 090AV Cylinder Assembly.
Some years ago I purchased one each of all the available After Market 090 cylinders online, from memory there was 7 of them.
I then got about measuring the bore up with internal micrometers and the pistons with external micrometers. This effort was to determine if any of them matched up to the measurments of the original STIHL cylinder.
 This brand was the only one that was on the money with regard to the sizing of the piston, bore, roundness etc and with the added bonus of quality Nikasil Plating too.
We all now know that genuine STIHL / MAHLE cylinders are NLA,  sadly they are a thing of the past). What you may not know though is that the majority of the Genuine STIHL cylinders were chrome plated and that in time these would all fail right at the top of the bore... trust me this is true and I have 10 or more of them in a row that all need replating, which is super expensive and barely worth doing really. Yeh, so what I am saying is that the Genuine Cylinders have a design flaw  - that being the chrome finish.
This Nikasil plating is actually "oelopholic" which basically means that the plated surface attracts oil, which is a very good thing as such a surface holds a little oil (on a microscopic level) and this attribute reduces friction greatly. Chrome on the other hand does not attract oil and thus is not as good (it's inferior). It's a big subject but I can assure you that there is a solid reason, why most of the world's leading car brands use Nikasil coating in their cylinders, including Formula 1 race cars.
All in all, these New West (NW) cylinders are first rate and are very well priced. They will last very well and they work hard, I have not had one fail yet, but make sure you use the best 2T oils out there, contact me about that too.
